Bio

Brittany Cagle works as a creative writing instructor and writing consultant at the University of South Florida. She holds an MFA in creative nonfiction and has been honored with the Estelle J. Zbar Award for Teaching & Academic Excellence in English. She is currently the advisor for the USF’s Creative Writing and iFixit organizations.Her poetry and prose has appeared in The Poet’s Billow, Spry Literary Journal Issues 2 and 4, Pelorus Press, Welter, Mad Swirl, Sweet: A Literary Confection, Cahoots Magazine, The Stray Branch and Broad! Magazine, and is forthcoming in White Stag Journal. Her poetry was nominated for Best of the Net in the Sundress Publications anthology in 2015, and for the 2014 and 2015 AWP Intro Journals Award. Her poetry chapbook, My Family Sleeps in New Beds, was selected by The Poet’s Billow for the Pangaea prize, submitted to Best New Poets anthology, and nominated for a Pushcart Prize in 2015. She has worked as the nonfiction and art editor for Saw Palm: Florida Literature and Art.
