Bio

Patty McCabe-Remmell teaches Professional Writing and Communications for Engineers. She holds a Master of Arts degree in English Literature, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Comparative and Interdisciplinary Literature - Latin and Classical Studies, from the University of South Florida. She received her Bachelor’s degree in English from the State University of New York College at Brockport, and an Associate’s Degree from Finger Lakes Community College in Canandaigua, New York.

Her professional dossier reveals over 40 years of experience as a professional writer in a number of capacities, not the least of which is her current role as partner and chief editor for The Write Writing, an international team of academic editors and writers. She comes by her technical writing expertise after working for Johnson & Johnson’s Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics division in Rochester, New York; and ConMed Linvatec, a manufacturer of arthroscopic surgery devices in Largo, Florida. She comes by her publishing experience after growing through the ranks at the Gannett flagship newspaper in Rochester, as well as Wolfe Publications, now Messenger-Wolfe, which publishes six weekly regional newspapers in Monroe and Ontario counties in her native western New York.

First published professionally as a teenager, her most recent publication is an essay, “Molly Blooms’s ‘Yes’,” published as part of The Yes Book: Writings on Yes (2014, Exult Road). Her editorial work includes Renaissance by Timothy Freriks; Honey by Alison Lyke; and Lessons from the Morning Star and Dreams and the Venus Diaries, by Peg Watts.
